I saw a stone. I haven't been back in a while. I saw a treeline that arched around it, as if in awe as if in admiration. I saw the creek that flowed before it, bubbling and muttering some secrets only the earth could understand. I saw the emerald fields of grass that like a red carpet seemed to lift up the status of this stone. The rock was about 4 metres high and its width was even more. A slanting side faced me in the shape of a wide grin, eroded by who knows how many years of rain and wind. like a smile only an old person can wear their eyes amused by something only they can see.
The rock was curved on the back, but somewhere on the left side there were chunks missing. On curiosities demand there seems to be traces of some strange runes, a letter here and down another, a message of the past lost in the past.
I faintly remember what they wrote there, on certain days I can recall.
The treeline endlessly stretched before me, with its hidden grottos and unkept paths. There used to be camps there, hunting grounds and sleeping caves. Animals would crawl, run and fly all over. And we would chase them. We would with awe with great respect take hold of their flesh and bury their souls. But now there is only silence.
The sun sets slowly over the distant hills. And as the long shadows retreat in their brothers arms I find myself embraced by memories only. And this damned giant stone.
Here lies our father, our brother, husband and chieftain.
May he rest here for eternity in peace.
what a wish.
Eternity
Peace.
